Kiplin Hall was built by George Calvert, 1st Baron Baltimore, famed for the founding of Maryland in the USA. Kiplin Hall offers visitors a window into the past, exploring 400 years of history rooted in its Calvert origins. While colonies became a nation and declared independence, life at Kiplin Hall continued through the Calvert descendants and family members to the Crowes, Carpenters and Talbots.

Nestled halfway between the market towns of Northallerton and Richmond in North Yorkshire, Kiplin Hall & Gardens is open today as a historic house museum and café with 90 acres of gardens and grounds.
Visitors can learn about the first colonists aboard the ships The Ark and The Dove making their voyage to North America while walking in the grounds. Indoors visitors can see a full-length portrait of George Calvert in pride of place on the central staircase overseeing the comings and goings of this intriguing home. While room stewards tell tales of 400 years of life lived in this special place.
Kiplin Hall is open 6 days a week (closed on Thursdays) from the first Friday in February to Thanksgiving in November, (closed December and January)
